Beauty and the Beast 1991 Review 9/10
Beauty and the Beast manages to make a castle full of household objects feel like a genuine community. Belle’s curiosity gives the romance an important counterweight, while Gaston is a disturbingly believable villain beneath all the swagger. The ballroom sequence remains a landmark in animation, but it’s the quiet moments between Belle and the Beast that make the transformation matter. Also, the enchanted furniture have better supporting-character chemistry than many live-action ensembles.
