Thor’s new hammer ( Stormbreaker )
Over the past few weeks we have been asked various questions about the new Avengers: Infinity war movie and our next few posts will talk you through in detail questions about the new Marvel Movie:
Killing two birds with one stone, yes Thor ( Chris Hemsworth ) does get his eye back… Really? When Rocket Raccoon and Thor travel to Nidavellir to build Thor’s new hammer Rocket pulls out a new cyber eye as a gift.
Raccoon quickly makes a joke about how he stole the eye and where he put if first 💩
When the both arrive at the abandoned Nidavellir planet, they cannot understand where all the Dwarves are, then one the last surviving Dwarves come out of hiding and explain that Thanos ( Josh Brolin ) had previously visited and promised to spare all the lives in exchange for the creation of the Infinity Gauntlet.
This is the part of Infinity war where Thor’s new hammer is created… The Stormbreaker.
With the help of Groot, the hammer handle is modified to help Thor destroy Thanos and his army.
Thor’s new hammer
- Worthiness: There is no proof, but it is believed that, just like the original Mjolnir, no one can lift Stormbreaker who is not worthy.
- Power of Recall: When Thor throws the stormbreaker, it returns to his hand with irresistible force. In the same way, he can summon it to himself even if it has not been thrown. Like his original Hammer
- Force Projection: Stormbreaker can be used as a blunt force melee weapon or as a throwing weapon. It appears that Stormbreaker has the same attributes as Mjolnir, and it can absorb, magnify, and return almost any type of force.
- Flight: By throwing Stormbreaker and gripping its strap, Thor can fly.
- Energy Projection: Used to project powerful concussive blasts of mystical energy. to help destroy Thanos’ army
- Portal Creation: When swung at a particular pitch the hammer can open a portal to any desired dimension (such as Asgard which no long exists).
- Energy Sensing: The hammer can detect most types of energy. It reacts particularly strongly to evil psychic energy.
With Deadpool 2 due to release next week we take a look at the current members of the X-Force team starting with Negasonic teenage warhead Deadpool 2.
Brianna Hildebrand plays the super cool Negasonic Teenage Warhead (real name Ellie Phimister) with the special ability who displays telepathic and precognitive powers, and is a student of Emma Frost at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters
Did you know?
In the 2016 feature film Deadpool, albeit with a different look and a change in the character’s comic book powers. This was done through a deal between 20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios, which allowed Marvel Studios to use Ego the Living Planet in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in exchange for changing the character’s powers. In Deadpool, Negasonic Teenage Warhead is a member of the X-Men, portrayed by actress Brianna Hildebrand. She will reprise her role in the sequel. Source: Wiki
With the new release of Avengers: Infinity War we take a look at all of The Infinity Stone Collection – As we have finally seen the The Soul Stone that we have all questioned for years, here at Comic Movie DB we had the idea that Heimdall but it is revealed that he has dark magic. Who knew?
The Infinity Stone Collection:
The Mind Stone – Avengers: Age of Ultron
First seen in The Avengers, though not revealed as an Infinity Stone until Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The Soul Stone – Avengers: Infinity War
Revealed in Infinity War where Gamora ( Zoe Saldana ) is traded by Thanos – a soul for soul enables Red Skull, now the gatekeeper to give him the stone but is Gamora really dead? we hope not!
The Time Stone – Dr Strange
Late in the Dr Strange movie it is revealed that in the Sanctum Sanctorum is The Time Stone where he uses it to save the planet
The Space Stone – Captain America: The First Avenger
One of the first paths to Infinity war, Steve Rogers battles Red Skull who uses the power to create weapons for hydra, he is who is transported when he holds the stone. The Space Stone was used by Odin and Heimdall to build the Bifrost on Asgard
The Reality Stone – Thor: The Dark World
The Aether was the object of desire for Malekith in Thor: The Dark World, he is the leader of the Dark Elves. Jane Foster ( Natalie Portman ) binds with the Aether making her a target for the evil elf who looks to extract it back.
The Power Stone – Guardians of the Galaxy
This is the first time we find out that Peter Quill is half human half celestial as he holds the stone in the end of GOTG to defeat Ronan the Accuser ( Lee Pace )
Avengers: Infinity War Movie Review
Please, only read on if you have already watched the new Avengers: Infinity War movie or are not fussed about knowing the films storyline.
You have been warned!
As you would expect of a movie crammed with nearly every Marvel Superhero to grace the screen over the past 10 years, it would be hard to get the story right, but they nailed it!

The only superheros Ant-man & Hawkeye didn’t show up to the Thanos party yet… even Fury ( Samual L. Jackson ) made it to the end credits.
For the first time ever all of the marvel superhero’s meet to defend the earth from Thano’s who is on a mission to Collect all 6 infinity stones – we have had all 5 show up in the past films apart from the Soul Stone which Gamora ( Zoe Saldana ) is the only one who know’s where it is.
In the opening screen it carries on from Thor: Ragnarok – We we see Thor’s ship and people escape Asgard after it is blown to pieces.
Loki, who appears to be a changed person offers an exchange, Thor’s life for The Tesseract which he stole in the previous Marvel Movie.
However Loki ( Tom Hiddleston ) being the god of mischief attempts to outsmart Thanos who squeezes the life out of him and kills Heimdall ( Idris Elba ) after he saves the Hulk ( Mark Ruffalo ) from getting killed, Thor is left floating in space after the ship his blown up.
The film switches between worlds and Superheros which could be confusing if you have never seen any previous Marvel Movies Timeline.

Thanos ( Josh Brolin ) now knows 2 of the Infinity stones are on earth so he splits up his Black Order team to track them down and find them, they attack the New York Sanctum Sanctorum where Dr Strange ( Benedict Cumberbatch ), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr. ), Spider Man ( Tom Holland ) and the Hulk fight to protect The Time Stone.
Meanwhile in Space, The Guardians of the Galaxy travel to a distress signal where they find the Asgard ship in pieces before Thor lands on the windscreen. Mantis wakes him from his deep sleep where they introduce each other and Gamora is smitten by him and Star-lord belittled but Rocket Raccoon ( Bradley Cooper ) is impressed by the god of thunder.

The team split as Thor needs a new hammer and the only place to find one is Nidavellir where the only remaining member of the Dwarves builds the Stormbreaker – Forged with Groot ( Vin Diesel ) body part as the handle.
Vision & Scarlett Witch are enjoying a romantic break in Scotland before trouble finds them to retrieve the Mind Stone – They manage to hold them off before back up arrives in the form of Captain America, Black Widow and Falcon.
The Avengers reassemble with War Machine at Stark HQ where Civil war team decide they need more help and a hope to extract the stone from Vision and save his life by travelling to Wakanda.
