London once again transformed into a pop culture paradise as MCM Comic Con London returned to the ExCeL for an unforgettable weekend packed with cosplay, celebrities, gaming, anime, movies, collectibles and pure fandom energy.
From the moment fans started pouring through the doors on Friday morning, it was clear that MCM London May 2026 was operating on another level. The sunshine outside only added to the atmosphere, creating one of the hottest convention weekends in recent memory — and huge credit has to go to the incredible cosplayers who braved the heat in full armour, detailed anime outfits, superhero suits and screen-accurate creations all weekend long.
Whether you were a lifelong comic fan, hardcore gamer, anime lover or simply there to soak in the atmosphere, MCM once again proved why it remains one of the biggest and most welcoming geek culture events in the UK.
The Cosplay Community Continues To Steal The Show
One of the true highlights of every MCM Comic Con is the cosplay community, and this year’s event may have delivered some of the best we’ve ever seen.
Every corner of the convention floor felt like stepping into another universe. Spider-Men swung through the halls alongside Jedi Knights, Mandalorians, anime heroes, gaming legends and horror icons, while thousands of fans proudly showcased months — and sometimes years — of craftsmanship and creativity.
What makes MCM so special is that cosplay at the event isn’t just about accuracy or big builds. It’s about passion, confidence and celebrating the characters people love. From first-time cosplayers to professional-level costume creators, everyone was welcomed with the same excitement and support.
The atmosphere throughout the weekend perfectly captured what conventions like MCM are all about — community, creativity and fandom without judgement.
The Show Floor Was Bigger And Better Than Ever
The show floor itself felt absolutely massive this year, with major brands and retailers stepping things up across the entire venue.
Forbidden Planet brought one of the standout booths of the weekend, packed with collectibles, exclusives, manga, comics and merchandise that kept fans swarming throughout the event.
Meanwhile, the DragonSteel booth became one of the surprise highlights of the convention, drawing huge crowds and creating a stunning presence on the show floor that fantasy fans absolutely loved.
Another major crowd-puller came from eBay, who brought TV and radio personality Roman Kemp to MCM for a special live bidding event that created huge energy on the convention floor. Fans gathered in massive numbers to watch the action unfold, proving once again how collectible culture and fandom continue to collide in exciting new ways.
Across the weekend, attendees could explore artist alleys, gaming zones, tabletop experiences, exclusive merchandise drops, celebrity signing areas and endless independent creators showcasing their work.
Comic Movie DB Meets The Stars
As part of our weekend coverage, the Comic Movie DB team had the opportunity to sit down with some incredible guests across film, television, gaming and anime.
On Saturday, we spoke with the cast of Resident Evil Requiem including Angela Sant’Albano and Emma Rose Creaner, discussing fan reactions, horror storytelling and the excitement surrounding the next chapter in the legendary survival horror franchise.
We also caught up with members of the English dub cast from My Hero Academia including Leah Clarke, Gabe Kunda and Austin Tindle, who shared stories about the passionate anime community and what it means to meet fans face-to-face at events like MCM.
Then on Sunday, we were lucky enough to sit down with legendary members of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars cast, including Dee Bradley Baker, Matt Lanter, James Arnold Taylor, Nika Futterman and Catherine Taber.
For Star Wars fans, seeing these iconic voices together was genuinely special, with fans lining up throughout the weekend to celebrate one of the most beloved animated series in the galaxy far, far away.
More Than A Convention
What continues to make MCM Comic Con stand out is that it’s more than just a convention.
It’s a celebration of fandom in all forms.
Throughout the weekend, complete strangers became friends while discussing anime theories, trading collectibles, complimenting cosplay builds or bonding over favourite franchises. Families attended together, creators networked with fellow artists and fans travelled from across the UK — and beyond — simply to be part of the experience.
There’s something incredibly special about walking through halls filled with people unapologetically celebrating the things they love.
In a world where online fandom can sometimes feel divided, MCM Comic Con continues to remind everyone what geek culture is really about: passion, creativity and community.
