Another Comic Con Liverpool done and what a weekend!
We’ve just got back from Comic Con Liverpool October 2026 and once again, it reminded us why this is always one of the biggest events on our convention calendar. The celebrity guests, the atmosphere, the cosplay and thousands of people coming together to celebrate everything they love about movies, TV, gaming and comics.
We always try to get there nice and early, partly because we want to get as much filming done as possible, but also because it’s probably the only time you can walk around the stalls without having to squeeze between hundreds of people.
It’s a great opportunity to see what everyone has brought along too. Some of the merchandise and handmade creations were brilliant, and we managed to have a few conversations with the creative makers behind them. It’s easy to forget how much work goes into preparing for these events, especially when you’re making everything yourself, so it’s always nice to stop and have a chat rather than just point a camera at everything and move on.

Back to the Future and Some Brilliant Q&A Moments
The celebrity line-up this year was fantastic, but personally I was most excited about seeing the Back to the Future cast.
Back to the Future is one of my all-time favourite movies. It’s one of those films I’ve watched more times than I can remember and somehow never get bored of. So having the chance to see members of the cast together at Comic Con Liverpool was a bit special for me.
One thing I really enjoy about filming the Q&A panels is that you get to see a completely different side of these actors.
We’re so used to seeing them playing characters on screen that sometimes you forget they’re just normal people too. Well, normal people who happen to have starred in some of the biggest films and television shows ever made.
And sometimes those conversations become a lot more personal than you’d expect.
One of our favourite Q&A moments from the weekend was with Maggie Wheeler, who played Janice in Friends.
During the panel, Maggie was asked about Matthew Perry and the conversation became quite emotional. It was a lovely, heartfelt moment and one of those reminders that behind these characters we’ve loved for years are real friendships and memories.
It was also interesting hearing her thoughts on where Janice might be in 2026 if Friends ever returned. Now, I think we all know how extremely unlikely a reboot would be, but it’s still fun imagining what some of those characters would be getting up to today.
And let’s be fair, you’d probably hear Janice before you saw her.

We Finally Watched the Cosplay Show!
Now this might sound ridiculous considering how many conventions we’ve attended over the years, but this time we actually managed to sit down and watch the cosplay show.
Normally we’re rushing around filming panels, exploring stands, getting footage of the arena or trying to be in three places at once. Before you know it, the day’s nearly over and you’ve missed half the things you wanted to see.
So it was brilliant to finally take some time out and watch the cosplayers show off their creations.
And honestly, some of the work was incredible.
When you think about the hours, effort and money that go into building these costumes, it’s amazing what people create simply because they love a character or a particular fandom.
Some of the detail was unbelievable. These aren’t just costumes somebody has thrown together the night before, although knowing how cosplay projects go, I’m sure a few were still being finished at 2am.
Seeing everyone getting their moment on stage, showing off something they’ve spent so much time working on, was probably one of my favourite parts of the weekend.

Come and Say Hello!
The main arena had some awesome props and photo opportunities too, but one thing I’d really like us to do more of at future conventions is feature more of the fans themselves.
There were some incredible cosplays walking around Liverpool this weekend and we would have loved to film more of them.
The only thing is, we don’t want to be those random people wandering around pointing cameras at everyone without asking. We know how much time people put into their costumes and we want everyone to feel comfortable being featured.
So if you ever see us walking around at a Comic Con, please come and say hello!
We’re friendly, I promise 🙂
Whether you’ve spent months building an incredible costume or you’ve just put something together for a laugh, we’d love to see it. If you’re happy to be filmed, we’d be more than happy to feature you across our Comic Movie DB socials and give your creations a bit of love.
After all, Comic Con isn’t just about the celebrity guests. It’s the fans who bring these events to life and make every convention different.
Next Stop, MCM London
As always, Comic Con Liverpool was a brilliant weekend and a massive thank you to the team at Monopoly Events for inviting us down and putting on another fantastic event.
It’s always a pleasure attending, catching up with familiar faces and meeting new people who share the same love for all things fandom.
We’ve got plenty of footage from the weekend that we’ll be sharing across our socials, including celebrity Q&A moments, cosplay and a look around the event, so keep an eye out for those.
And we’re not putting the cameras away just yet.
We’re heading to MCM London in two weeks, so if you’re going to be there, come and say hi. Whether you’re a cosplayer, creator or just somebody who loves a good Comic Con, we’d love to meet you.
Until next time, Fandom! 🙂
