Men in Black 3 (2012) Storyline

Men in Black 3 is the 2012 time-travel sequel that sends Agent J back to the 1960s to save Agent K and repair the timeline. When alien criminal Boris the Animal escapes and changes history, J discovers that K has been erased from the present. To stop the disaster, he travels back to 1969 and teams up with a younger version of K, played by Josh Brolin. The film brings a stronger emotional angle to the franchise while still delivering alien comedy, retro sci-fi style and Men in Black gadget madness. By exploring K’s past and the origins of his bond with J, the sequel gives the series a surprisingly heartfelt chapter.

Men in Black 3 (2012) Review - 8/10 Rating

We have rated Men in Black 3 8 out of 10, because it is a much stronger sequel than many expected and gives the franchise some real emotional weight. Josh Brolin is fantastic as young Agent K, capturing Tommy Lee Jones’ mannerisms without turning the performance into a cheap impression. Will Smith slips easily back into Agent J mode, and the time-travel setup gives the series a fresh visual and storytelling angle. The comedy still works, the retro alien world is fun and the ending lands with more heart than the franchise had shown before. After the weaker second film, Men in Black 3 feels like the series remembering why people loved these characters in the first place.
