Good news from Nevermore.
Wednesday Season 3 has officially wrapped filming.
Netflix confirmed that production on the third season concluded on September 30, 2026, meaning Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams has completed another semester of staring uncomfortably at people, investigating horrible things and generally making the rest of us look far too enthusiastic about life.
For fans, though, this is a pretty important milestone.
Cameras stopping doesn’t mean we’re getting new episodes next week — unfortunately Thing hasn’t mastered post-production yet — but it does mean Wednesday Season 3 has entered the next major stage on its journey back to Netflix.
So what happens now?
Wednesday Season 3 Has Finished Filming
Production wrapping means the main filming phase of Season 3 is complete.
The series now moves deeper into post-production, where editing, visual effects, music, sound design and all the other pieces are brought together to turn months of filming into the finished episodes we’ll eventually binge far too quickly.
And Wednesday isn’t exactly a show where you simply point a camera at the actors and call it finished.
Nevermore Academy, its creatures and the increasingly supernatural world surrounding Wednesday require plenty of work after filming ends.
But today’s announcement means we’re another significant step closer.
Jenna Ortega Returns As Wednesday Addams
It’s difficult to imagine anybody else playing this version of Wednesday now.
Jenna Ortega has completely made the character her own.
She manages to be funny without Wednesday deliberately telling jokes, intimidating without constantly trying to appear threatening and strangely likeable despite the character seemingly viewing human interaction as some form of punishment.
That’s a difficult balance.
And it’s one of the biggest reasons the Netflix series has connected with such a huge audience.
Season 3 gives Ortega another opportunity to push the character further, particularly as Wednesday’s relationships with the people around her continue to evolve.
Not that she’d ever admit she actually cares about them.
Obviously.
What Can We Expect From Wednesday Season 3?
We’re keeping this relatively spoiler-free for anyone who hasn’t caught up yet, but Season 3 has plenty of story left to explore.
The world of Wednesday has expanded considerably beyond the original mystery surrounding Nevermore.
We’ve learned more about the Addams family.
We’ve explored Wednesday’s abilities.
We’ve met increasingly strange supernatural characters.
And the series has gradually become much bigger than simply “Wednesday Addams goes to school.”
That’s something we’d like Season 3 to continue.
One of the best things about the series is how comfortably it moves between murder mystery, supernatural horror, comedy and teenage drama.
On paper, that combination probably shouldn’t work.
Then again, neither should a disembodied hand being one of the most lovable characters on television.
Yet here we are.
When Could Wednesday Season 3 Be Released?
This is now going to be the big question.
When is Wednesday Season 3 coming to Netflix?
With filming only wrapping on September 30, there’s still plenty of post-production work ahead before Netflix can release the finished season.
Until Netflix announces an official premiere date, we’d treat any specific release window as speculation.
But reaching the end of principal photography means we’re now moving towards the stage where teasers, first-look images and eventually a proper trailer can begin appearing.
And you can guarantee that the second Netflix drops ten seconds of footage, fans will analyse every frame.
Us included.
Probably several times.
Wednesday Has Become One Of Netflix’s Biggest Franchises
It’s easy to forget just how enormous Wednesday became.
The Addams Family already had generations of fans before the Netflix series arrived, but Jenna Ortega’s version introduced Wednesday to an entirely new audience.
And somehow it worked without abandoning what made the character special.
She’s still weird.
She’s still wonderfully miserable.
She still has a worrying fascination with death.
The series simply gave her a much larger supernatural world to investigate.
With three seasons now reaching this stage, Wednesday has gone from an interesting Addams Family spin-off to a major franchise in its own right.
The Wait For Wednesday Season 3 Begins
Filming is finished.
Now comes the painful bit.
Waiting.
There are still plenty of questions surrounding Wednesday Season 3, and Netflix is understandably keeping many of its secrets buried deeper than an Addams family relative.
But September 30 marks an important milestone.
The cast and crew have completed production, Wednesday is heading into post-production and we’re officially one major step closer to returning to Nevermore.
