Hayley Atwell’s dream to play Lara Croft in Netflix’s Tomb Raider Series
British actress Hayley Atwell, best known for her role as Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, recently shared her enthusiasm for stepping into the boots of another iconic heroine: Lara Croft. During a fan interaction at a convention, Atwell hinted that she would love to play the legendary adventurer in Netflix’s upcoming Tomb Raider series.
With Tomb Raider fans eagerly awaiting Netflix’s adaptation, the possibility of Atwell bringing the daring archaeologist to life has sparked excitement. Known for her strong, empowering performances, Atwell seems like a natural fit for Lara Croft, a character famed for her blend of intelligence, athleticism, and resilience.
Netflix has kept details about the Tomb Raider series under wraps, but with the success of their other gaming-based adaptations like The Witcher and Castlevania, fans have high hopes for this project.
Should Atwell land the role, she would join the ranks of Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, both of whom brought the iconic adventurer to the big screen. Atwell’s previous work, including her commanding presence in action-heavy roles, makes her a strong contender for the character, particularly as she has voiced Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft anime series, also slated for release on Netflix.
Hayley Atwell’s dream to play Lara Croft may give her a unique edge in bringing the character to life. Whether or not she officially dons the iconic gear remains to be seen, but one thing’s for certain: fans are on board with the idea of Hayley Atwell leading the next chapter of Tomb Raider adventures.
