Constantine (2005) Storyline

Constantine follows occult detective John Constantine, a cynical chain-smoking exorcist who can see angels and demons walking among humans. When police detective Angela Dodson asks for help investigating her twin sister’s death, Constantine uncovers a supernatural conspiracy that could unleash Hell on Earth. Based on DC’s Hellblazer comics, it became one of the most beloved dark comic adaptations of the 2000s.

Constantine (2005) Review - 7/10 Rating

Constantine has aged incredibly well because it never tried to be a traditional superhero movie. Keanu Reeves plays the character differently from the comic version, but the mood, atmosphere and supernatural world-building are fantastic. Peter Stormare’s Lucifer is still one of the best devil performances in comic movie history. Stylish, grim and endlessly rewatchable, it went from divisive release to genuine cult classic for a reason.
