15 Comic Book Movies And Series We Still Want To See After Secret Wars

The next few years are absolutely packed with comic book movies and TV series.
Marvel is building toward Avengers: Secret Wars, DC Studios is beginning its new universe and somehow we’re getting live-action Clayface before another Batman film. Comic books are weird and we honestly wouldn’t want it any other way.

But while some projects are officially confirmed, there are still plenty of movies and series sitting somewhere between “definitely happening” and “please let this happen before we’re collecting pension payments.”

These are the comic book projects we want to see, from guaranteed blockbusters to the 50/50 fan dreams that refuse to die.

Officially Confirmed Comic Book Projects

Nova

Marvel keeps mentioning Nova, and the cosmic side of the MCU desperately needs expanding.

The Guardians are gone, the universe feels smaller and Richard Rider could easily become one of Marvel’s biggest heroes. Nova Corps have already appeared, so the groundwork exists.

Frankly, it’s about time.

The Authority

When James Gunn announced his DC slate, The Authority immediately stood out.

A violent, morally questionable superhero team isn’t exactly your traditional Superman follow-up, which is exactly why it feels exciting.

If DC gets this right, it could become their answer to The Boys.

Avengers: Secret Wars (2027)

This is the big one.

Secret Wars could bring together multiple universes, legacy heroes, former X-Men actors and characters we’ve never expected to see again.

Comic fans have spent decades imagining this film.

The pressure is enormous.

The Batman: Part II

Gotham is returning and Liverpool once again becomes Batman’s playground.

Matt Reeves created one of the most believable versions of Gotham City we’ve seen, and Robert Pattinson still feels like he’s only getting started.

Because apparently Gotham still hasn’t invested in functioning streetlights.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse

Yes, the delays have been painful.

But Miles Morales deserves the ending this trilogy has been building toward.

Few comic book films have pushed animation forward the way Spider-Verse has.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow

This could surprise a lot of people.

The comic story is darker, emotional and very different from previous versions of Supergirl. DC finally appears willing to take risks again.

Clayface

A Clayface movie wasn’t on anybody’s bingo card.

Yet somehow it has become one of DC’s most intriguing projects.

A horror-inspired comic book film could be exactly what the genre needs.

Vision Quest

Vision returns in 2026 and finally gives the character a chance to step back into the spotlight.

After WandaVision, there are still plenty of questions to answer.

 X-Men MCU Reboot

Mutants are coming.

Marvel isn’t even pretending otherwise anymore.

Secret Wars feels like the perfect opportunity to fully introduce the X-Men into the MCU, and honestly we’ve been waiting since 2019.

The 50/50 Comic Book Projects We Need

Gambit

Channing Tatum finally became Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Fans loved him.

The character works.

The accent somehow survived.

Now give the man his movie.

Scarlet Witch: Kingdom of the Damned

Wanda remains one of Marvel’s most popular characters.

A darker supernatural film exploring her return feels almost inevitable.

The title alone sounds like something every comic fan would buy immediately.

Thor 5

Chris Hemsworth continues to say he’d return for the right story.

Many fans want a darker Thor movie after Love and Thunder.

Imagine Thor facing genuine gods, real consequences and fewer screaming goats.

Doctor Strange: The Incursions of Insanity

The multiverse saga needs Doctor Strange.

Incursions have already been established and Strange feels central to whatever happens next.

Plus, Benedict Cumberbatch still feels like he’s hiding a dozen secrets.

X-Men: Rogue

Thanks to X-Men ’97, Rogue has become one of Marvel’s most popular characters again.

A solo project exploring her powers, relationships and struggles could be fantastic.

Lady Deadpool

Deadpool & Wolverine opened the door.

And let’s be honest, the Deadpool universe can pretty much do whatever it wants now.

Shang-Chi 2

This one feels inevitable.

The first film introduced one of the MCU’s strongest new heroes and Simu Liu has repeatedly spoken about returning.

We just need Marvel to stop making us wait.

Midnight Sons Could Be Marvel’s Next Big Team

If there is one project we want above everything else, it’s Midnight Sons.

Marvel already has:

* Blade
* Moon Knight
* Werewolf by Night
* Black Knight
* Elsa Bloodstone

The supernatural side of Marvel feels completely untouched.

A darker, horror-inspired team movie could give the MCU something genuinely different.

Will We Finally Get World War Hulk?

World War Hulk remains one of the biggest “what ifs” in comic book cinema.

Fans have wanted it for years.

Bruce Banner appears to be returning to the spotlight and Marvel clearly hasn’t finished with Hulk.

As every comic fan knows, death is temporary and angry green men usually come back eventually.

Comic book movies aren’t slowing down.

Some of these projects are already happening.

Others may never leave development.

But that’s part of being a comic fan.

We speculate.

We theorise.

We convince ourselves that Gambit is finally happening for the fifteenth time.

And honestly, that’s half the fun.
