8/10 Rating
Thirty years after the defeat of the Empire, a new threat rises in the form of the First Order, a militaristic regime forged from the ashes of the old Empire. With Luke Skywalker missing and the Resistance struggling to stand against this growing force, a new generation of heroes emerges.
On the desert planet of Jakku, a scavenger named Rey discovers a droid, BB-8, carrying a map that may lead to the lost Jedi. As she crosses paths with a defected stormtrooper, Finn, and Resistance pilot Poe Dameron, they find themselves pursued by Kylo Ren, a dark warrior of the First Order tormented by his lineage.
With the help of legends like Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Leia Organa, the new heroes set out on a journey to find Luke and spark a new hope for the galaxy.
We rated The Force Awakens a strong 8/10 — a thrilling and emotional return to the Star Wars universe that blends nostalgia with fresh energy.
Director J.J. Abrams delivers a fast-paced adventure that mirrors the heart and style of the original trilogy. Rey (Daisy Ridley) emerges as a compelling and mysterious lead, and John Boyega brings heart and humor as Finn. The chemistry between new and legacy characters is electric, especially with Han Solo’s return — a moment both joyful and deeply emotional by the film’s end.
Visually stunning and powered by John Williams’ triumphant score, the film reintroduces iconic elements — the Millennium Falcon, stormtroopers, lightsabers — with modern flair. The emotional gut punch of Han’s fate at the hands of his son, Kylo Ren, adds real weight to the narrative and sets up a darker arc.
While it leans heavily on the structure of A New Hope, The Force Awakens succeeds by reigniting excitement for a galaxy far, far away and introducing a new generation of fans to the Force.
