7/10 Rating
The Resistance is on the run. Hunted by the First Order and running out of options, General Leia Organa leads her dwindling forces in a desperate escape across the galaxy. Meanwhile, Rey confronts Luke Skywalker, now a disillusioned and reclusive Jedi who refuses to return to the fight.
As Rey tries to convince Luke to train her and uncover the truth about her powers, Kylo Ren wrestles with his identity — torn between the light and the dark. A mysterious Force connection between Rey and Kylo forms, deepening the conflict.
Back with the Resistance, Finn, Poe, and new ally Rose Tico launch a risky mission to find a way to disable the First Order’s tracking system. With shocking betrayals, bold choices, and galaxy-shaking consequences, The Last Jedi challenges old legacies and redefines what it means to be a hero in the Star Wars universe.
We rated The Last Jedi a 7/10 — a bold, visually stunning chapter in the saga that stirred strong opinions and took creative risks with the lore.
Director Rian Johnson took Star Wars in unexpected directions, challenging traditions and character arcs. Luke Skywalker’s portrayal as a jaded, guilt-ridden Jedi Master sparked debate, but his ultimate sacrifice is powerful and poetic, bringing his story full circle. The film dives deep into themes of failure, legacy, and hope — especially through Rey’s personal journey and her evolving connection with Kylo Ren.
The visuals are breathtaking, particularly the throne room battle, the hyperspace attack on the First Order fleet, and the red-sand battlefield of Crait. John Williams’ score, once again, elevates key emotional beats.
That said, some subplots — such as the casino planet Canto Bight — felt disconnected from the main narrative and slowed the pacing. Despite its flaws, The Last Jedi is thematically rich and ambitious, delivering a memorable middle chapter that invites reflection and discussion.
