Toy Story 5 London Premiere: Celebrating 30 Years of Pixar Magic
Yesterday, Comic Movie DB headed down to London for the highly anticipated Toy Story 5 London Premiere, joining fans, media and special guests to celebrate the latest chapter in one of cinema’s most beloved animated franchises.
Before we dive into the new adventure, it’s impossible not to reflect on just how far this series has come.
For many of us, the original Toy Story was more than just a film. Released in 1995, it introduced audiences to Woody, Buzz Lightyear and a world where toys came to life when humans weren’t looking.
Thirty years later, we’re still talking about these characters.
And honestly? That’s pretty incredible.

A Franchise That Grew Up With Its Audience
Over the past three decades, Pixar has managed something very few franchises achieve.
Rather than simply repeating the same story, the Toy Story films have grown alongside their audience.
The original Toy Story introduced friendship and belonging.
Toy Story 2 expanded the world while delivering one of Pixar’s most emotional stories.
Toy Story 3 gave an entire generation one of the hardest cinema goodbyes they’ve ever experienced.
And somehow, Toy Story 4 managed to find another meaningful chapter for Woody and the gang.
Now, Pixar is ready to tell a new story with Toy Story 5.

Stars Shine on the London Premiere Carpet
The London premiere brought plenty of excitement as stars, filmmakers and special guests arrived to celebrate the latest Pixar release.
The atmosphere outside the venue was fantastic, with fans lining up to catch a glimpse of the cast while photographers captured the action from the carpet.
Pixar has always had a special ability to bring generations together, and that was clear throughout the evening.
Parents who grew up with the original films stood alongside younger fans who are experiencing Woody and Buzz’s adventures for the very first time.

Thirty Years of Friendship
What makes Toy Story so enduring isn’t just the animation.
It’s the characters.
Woody and Buzz have become cultural icons, but beyond them, the franchise has always focused on themes that resonate with audiences of all ages: friendship, loyalty, change, growing up and finding your place in the world.
That’s a huge reason why these films continue to connect with audiences decade after decade.
While animation technology has evolved dramatically since 1995, the heart of Toy Story remains exactly the same.

Thank You to Disney UK
We’d like to say a huge thank you to the Disney UK team for inviting Comic Movie DB to attend the London premiere.
Opportunities like this allow us to share these experiences directly with our readers and continue covering the films and franchises we love.
It’s always a privilege to be part of these events and see first-hand the excitement surrounding major releases.
Why Toy Story Still Matters
As we left the premiere, one thing became clear.
Very few franchises have managed to remain relevant, emotional and genuinely loved for thirty years.
From the original Toy Story to Toy Story 5, Pixar has created something special that continues to entertain new generations while rewarding those of us who have been there since the beginning.
For fans who remember seeing Woody and Buzz for the first time in the 90s, this latest chapter feels particularly meaningful.
Thirty years later, the toys are still very much alive.
And we can’t wait to see where their adventure goes next.
