The Batman Storyline

Set during Batman’s second year of crime-fighting, The Batman follows a younger, more emotionally raw Bruce Wayne as he navigates the shadows of Gotham City. When a sadistic killer known as The Riddler begins targeting the city’s elite, Batman dives deep into Gotham’s corruption — uncovering secrets that tie the Wayne family to the underworld.

With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and cat burglar Selina Kyle (Catwoman), Batman must solve cryptic clues, face his past, and prevent Gotham from descending into chaos. The story focuses on detective work, psychological tension, and moral complexity — portraying the Dark Knight more as a haunted man than a polished hero.

The Batman Review - 7/10 Rating

We rated The Batman a 7/10 — a bold, gritty, and atmospheric take on the Caped Crusader that brings the character back to his noir-detective roots. Robert Pattinson delivers a brooding performance, capturing the trauma and obsession that drive this early-career Bruce Wayne.

Visually stunning and drenched in rain-soaked style, the film thrives on its mood and tension. Paul Dano’s Riddler is a chilling antagonist, modernized as a serial killer with a social media twist. The chemistry between Batman and Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman adds emotional depth and grounded intensity.

At nearly three hours, the pacing occasionally lags, and some subplots feel underdeveloped, but the film succeeds in carving a distinct identity for this new Batman era. Less superhero spectacle, more grim detective drama — it’s a compelling direction, even if not universally loved.
