A Weekend of Heroes, Nostalgia & Surprises
This weekend, we had the absolute pleasure of attending Comic Con Manchester 25, hosted by the ever-impressive Monopoly Events — and once again, they delivered. Whether you were there for the epic cosplay, the celebrity guests, or to indulge in your love for all things geek culture, this year’s show was a true celebration of fandoms, both old and new.
👨👩👧👦 A Fandom-Filled Weekend in Manchester
The buzz was real as fans from across the UK poured into Manchester, decked out in jaw-dropping cosplay. From Marvel to anime, horror icons to 80s classics — the creativity on display was phenomenal. We saw some incredibly detailed costumes and even bumped into a few group cosplays that stopped the show.
But it wasn’t just about the outfits — it was about the atmosphere. Comic Con Manchester is known for its friendly, welcoming vibe, and this year felt more like a reunion than just an event. We met some amazing fans, passionate collectors, and of course, made time to browse the incredible selection of merchandise, art prints, comics, and collectibles on offer.
🦸 The Stars of the Show – Celebrity Guests
This year’s guest list was stacked — with some major headliners that had the whole con talking.
Leading the charge was the cast of Amazon’s The Boys:
- Erin Moriarty (Starlight)
- Nathan Mitchell (Black Noir)
- Colby Minifie (Ashley Barrett)
- Valorie Curry (Firecracker)
Each brought their A-game to the panels and signings, sharing behind-the-scenes stories, meeting fans, and proving just how much they love this chaotic, super-powered universe.
We also got a double hit of nostalgia with the legendary Sean Astin (The Goonies, The Lord of the Rings) and Zach Galligan (Gremlins), both of whom drew massive crowds. And here’s the big news — Zach Galligan confirmed that both Gremlins 3 and The Goonies 2 are in the works! Childhood dreams: officially reactivated.
🎤 Panels, Props & Powerful Moments
One of the standout sessions of the weekend was the Q&A panel with Sean Patrick Thomas and Michelle Hurd, who shared insights into their film and TV careers, discussed their recent work in the Star Trek universe, and answered fan questions with real honesty and humour.
Elsewhere on the show floor, props galore gave fans something to geek out over — from Star Wars blasters and stormtrooper armour, to the legendary Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters, and of course, the always-iconic Mystery Machine from Scooby-Doo. Everywhere you looked, nostalgia and fandom collided in the best way possible.

✏️ Meeting Artists, Writers & Makers
One of the joys of Comic Con is discovering new voices and talents — and we were blown away by the independent artists, writers, and illustrators exhibiting this year. Whether you were into dark fantasy, superhero sketches, indie comics, or handmade crafts, there was something for every collector and fan to admire.
🎉 Another Success for Monopoly Events
Once again, Monopoly Events has proven why they’re one of the biggest names in the UK convention scene. From the organisation to the guest line-up, venue atmosphere and fan interaction — everything ran smoothly, and the passion behind the event shone through.
We had an absolute blast and are already counting down the days until the next one!
Until next time, Manchester. Keep cosplaying, keep collecting, and keep the fandom alive. 🖖🎬✨
